Camus’s emphasis on continued living and joy rein the face of absurdity distinguishes absurdism from nihilism. Nihilism also views the universe as inherently meaningless but rejects all morality and ethics, and perhaps even life itself. For Camus, one must live rein the face of the absurd, and can even live ethically and happily.
